In the sunlit lobby of Biotech Training Facility in Leiden some 40 people in life sciences and pharma gathered for the Progress-EXS event “Accessibility of new drugs”.
The guests were treated to presentations by Kwasi Amfo and Pierre A. Morgon.
Kwasi Amfo is an independent consultant to pharma and life science organizations, including CEPI. Kwasi Amfo talked about the CEPI mission, why he personally thinks global solidarity and coalitions are key in managing outbreaks and epidemics, and what challenges remain to overcome.
Founder and CEO of MRGN Advisors dr. Pierre A. Morgon is a highly experienced consultant and board-member to life sciences organizations. He presented on the macro-trends he sees in life sciences, and talked about future perspectives for profitable growth in pharma. Furthermore, he presented the keys to accessibility and sustainability of medicine in general and vaccines in particular.
These inspiring presentations were followed by a lively discussion prompted by the host. Questions like “How does CEPI change the vaccine industry now and in the future?“ resulted in conversations about obstacles and drivers for global solidarity amongst other topics.
Of course there was ample time for the participants to get acquainted, or catch up, while enjoying some refreshments.
We look back on a very successful and pleasant day of exploring points of view, and connecting with interesting people.
